Liposuction
Although it is seen as a slimming tool for our people today, in fact, liposuction is a surgical procedure that provides complete regional thinning and has no effect in terms of weight loss.
My patients often ask how much weight they will lose. They expect that they will lose a lot of weight with these procedures. However, what I often observe in my own practice is that the weight of the scale varies by 1-2 kg. In my patients where I applied the most intense amount of liposuction, it was realized within a period of 1 month, up to 5-6 kg.
Since the fat cell is large in volume and light in mass, postoperative change is more of a shape rather than a weighted one. Therefore, volumetric thinning is more.
The operation can take between 1-4 hours depending on the area to be operated. I do not perform operations under local anesthesia on areas other than the neck area. I had experience under local anesthesia before, but neither the patient was comfortable nor I could work comfortably with the worry that the patient might feel pain. That's why I perform the procedure under general anesthesia.
It requires 1 day of hospitalization and I also recommend 3-4 days of home rest.
The formal change starts after the 3rd week and becomes more detailed as the process progresses.
The most used methods today are:
1. Classical liposuction, which we call conventional
2. The method in which the fat is broken down with the sound wave we call Vaser
3.The method we call laser, in which fat is broken down using laser beam.
4. The classical liposuction, which we call lipomatic, is powered by a vibration motor in a way that is less tiring for the physician.
As someone who has experienced all of them in my practice: I use classical, vaser and laser liposuction procedures.
Usage areas:
1. Regional slimming and contour correction.
2. Adjusting the jowl.
3. In conjunction with a tummy tuck.
3. With gynecomastia operation.
4. With arm and thigh lift.
5. In oil injection operation.
